Tracey is a co-founder of Romance University, a group blog dedicated to readers and writers of romance. A long time fan of Regency era romance, Elena Greene began writing her own stories after an inspiring three-year international assignment in the United Kingdom. She has written five Regency romances and a Regency novella. Her books have won the Desert Rose Golden Quill Award, the Colorado Romance Writers’ Award of Excellence and the National Readers’ Choice Award. They have also been nominated for the Holt Medallion and the Booksellers’ Best Award.

The American Library Association’s Booklist named Katharine Ashe among its “New Stars of Historical Romance” and her debut,Swept Away by a Kiss, was a 2010 nominee for Best First Historical Romance in the Reviewers’ Choice Best Book Awards. Katharine lives in the wonderfully warm Southeast with her husband, son, two dogs, and a garden she likes to call romantic rather than unkempt. A professor of European history, she has made her home in California, Italy, France, and the northern US.

Gail has written over twenty historical and paranormal romances, and is a recipient of the Laurel Leaf Award for Published Authors and the Colorado Romance Writers Award of Excellence. She currently writes Regencies for Mills & Boon Historicals.

Ms. Moore is a native Southern California girl. At a very early age, she discovered her local library and the exciting potential of escaping the real world inside the pages of a very good book. In her early teens, she became a major fan of British literature. After reading most of the Victorian classics, Cynthia came across English Regency period novels in 1987. It was love at first read. Since her chance introduction to this amazing era, Cynthia has read over three thousand fiction novels and now owns over seventy five research books on the period. Living a nomadic lifestyle helped develop her interest in history and lore, not to mention adventure and the written word. Thankfully, her upbringing prepared her for life as a military wife and, majoring in art, she’s taken her military background and her love of history and put it to good use while working as an exhibit assistant at a Fort Leavenworth Museum.

Her degrees are in Honors Math and Operations Research. She also coaches fellow writers, teachings online classes, is a popular speaker and is the acknowledged Mistress of Book in a Week.

Stefanie Sloane, today’s Featured Beau Monde Author, is a native Northwesterner with the pale skin to prove it.
Stefanie credits her parents’ eclectic reading habits—not to mention their decision to live in the middle of nowhere—for her love of books. A childhood spent lost in the pages of countless novels led Stefanie to college where she majored in English.

How Much Do I Know About the Regency? More than I used to. *g* I will never know everything, but part of the fun is finding out new things.
About six years ago, when I got it into my head the idea to write a regency, I looked for library books on the subject. One of the books I found was What Jane Austen Ate and Charles Dickens Knew by Daniel Pool. I was in alt. Here was a list of lots of the things I read about in regencies, but had no idea what they were. Pounds and pence, Parliament sessions, Whitsunday and Michaelmas, quarter days and consols, pelisses, footmen and scullery maids. I was also totally confused. How would I ever remember all this stuff?
I recently reread the book. And, lo and behold, much of the information has become second nature. I guess I’ve learned a lot in the past few years. Some will scoff at the book. What Jane Austen Ate and Charles Dickens Knew covers both the Regency and the Victorian eras, so not everything is valid for the Regency. And the information is general. But the book is a good overview and has an extensive bibliography and a great glossary.
I will always make errors, and I hope my readers will be forgiving because I try to get things right. If you want to see if I’ve learned anything, The Wild Rose Press has released my latest Regency novella, Gifts Gone Astray on June 29.

I’m Linda Banche, and I write witty, sweet/sensual Regency romances with nary a rake or royal in sight. Most contain humor, some fantasy, and occasionally a little paranormal. For most of her life, her head has been filled with characters and stories, particularly lovers in angst. But she’d never had the courage to write them down.
